SG.GS establishes new market presence in Warsaw, Poland

SG.GS is pleased to announce its new point of presence (PoP) in Warsaw, Poland, further strengthening the business’ position as a global network carrier. This new node will facilitate better connectivity between Eastern Europe and the Asia-Pacific markets, enabling customers to build on growing economic opportunities and investment in both areas.

Poland marks SG.GS’ first venture into Eastern Europe – strategically chosen to enhance connectivity for those operating in the wider European area. The Warsaw PoP is another stage in strengthening the company’s global IP backbone (AS24482), serving as a natural extension from our next nearest node in Frankfurt and making for a logical next step in our network growth. Because Frankfurt is a leading European market for connectivity, we must establish ourselves in and around the area for our customers to benefit fully from its opportunities.

Dave Pumford, International VP & GM, SG.GS, says:

“We’ve strategically constructed steady, sustained growth in our global presence. Poland has benefitted from significant international investment, particularly thanks to Asian demand, and represents a statement of intent to better connect wider markets with top tier EPL, Peering, Cloud, DIA, and IPT services.”

Network resilience

By leveraging multiple subsea cables (SeaMeWe4, SeaMeWe5, and AAE1), we provide a new level of connectivity resilience designed by and for customers and failover between Europe and Asia-Pacific. Our services range from 100M to 100G in data transfer rates and further simplify the process of network deployments for your businesses in APAC and Eastern Europe.

Matt Jepp, Head of Presales & Engineering, NA & EMEA, adds:

“We’re continuing to bridge regions worldwide. Emerging markets around the world now have direct access to Europe, and Europe itself has a powerful connection to APAC and the wider global connectivity landscape.”

Growing businesses

The APAC region is flourishing, and many businesses are extending their products and services to appeal to a growing consumer audience. With over 70 PoPs in Asia-Pacific alone, we’re perfectly positioned to help you expand your reach.

Pumford continues:

“Asia is not a one-size-fits-all market. Connectivity in areas such as Thailand or Taiwan can’t be automated – businesses need local expertise, suitable connections, and expert advice.”

Establishing ourselves as a network carrier in Poland is just one of many extensions into Europe and beyond. We’ve steadily grown our network for 25 years, installing subsea infrastructure, data centers, and seamless connectivity worldwide.
