This is particularly important given the evolving challenges and growing demand for reliable connectivity in the region.

By adding Guam as a vital node, SG.GS enhances its ability to reroute and manage traffic efficiently in the event of cable failures, ensuring seamless connectivity for customers. The PoP also positions SG.GS to serve the growing demand for secure, reliable connections to and from Guam, enabling businesses to tap into the island’s expanding connectivity opportunities.

The Guam PoP offers a unique advantage: it enables SG.GS to switch between three distinct cable systems, providing two alternative routes between Asia and Sydney. The new PoP is located at the Piti Cable Landing Station, enabling easy access to multiple cable systems including JGA-North, JGA-South and AAG. With additional routes to North America coming next year, SG.GS are in a prime position to increase resilience and diversity on their network.
